Container transit between China and the EU through the Kaliningrad region is growing multiply

In January-July, the Kaliningrad Railway (a branch of Russian Railways) noted a 7.6% increase in the volume of container traffic in all types of communications compared to the same period last year - up to 68 thousand TEU, the branch’s press service said.

"At the same time, more than 3 thousand TEU containers were sent in transit, which is 293% more than the same period in 2018. This growth was mainly provided by freight traffic in the China-Europe direction," the press service said.

At the end of 2018, the volume of container traffic on the Kaliningrad Railway amounted to 150 thousand TEU, which is 24% higher than the level of 2017.
